Mayor Matt Mahan Testimonial

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” — Lao Tzu

We are excited to announce that on April 18, Breeze of Innovation advanced one step closer to success at Plaza de Cesar Chavez when the San Jose City Council voted unanimously to allow Urban Confluence Silicon Valley to:

- Create detailed analyses of Plaza de Cesar Chavez as the home of Breeze of Innovation

- Complete community outreach related to Breeze of Innovation

- Implement a Plaza de Cesar Chavez master plan to suggest improvements to park infrastructure for park users (including San Jose Jazz, Christmas in the Park, Music in the Park, and others)

-Recommend options at the Plaza to honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez

-Work on traffic studies to consider lane reductions on Market Street to create a safer, more pedestrian-friendly environment for park users, and expand the footprint of the park

- Explore establishing a park conservancy charged with development and active use of Plaza de Cesar Chavez

Silicon Valley innovators and civil rights activist Cesar Chavez built first-rate teams to accomplish great things. The Breeze of Innovation project team is Inspired and motivated by the city council’s unanimous vote to bring this iconic landmark to its completion.

Breeze of Innovation symbolizes people coming together, working together, and standing together.

Let's come together as a community and create something truly special for our city and the world.

San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan says Breeze of Innovation “is possibly the most exciting opportunity ahead of us.” Hear more of what he has to say by watching this short video.
