The Radiant Star is born in the sky with the idea of hope, adventure and the world of tomorrow in mind.

Since time immemorial and in all cultures, stars have inspired wonder and discovery in children, visionaries and every one of us. We have all stared at the night sky to watch the stars and travel in time and space, in them we have seen the past as well as the future. We “wish upon a star” and generations of explorers have been guided by them. Yesterday, today and tomorrow we arrive to Silicon Valley “following our Star”, The Radiant Star arrives to San Jose to celebrate this event and become the heart of the Valley.

The Radiant Star is made of a constellation of twelve multicolor stars coming together to make one superstar out of many. The spectacular 180 feet tall Radiant Star lands gently upon the Arena Green at Guadalupe River Park and Gardens to connect and define the people of San Jose. The Radiant Star is to inspire the imagination of the world and celebrate for always the extraordinary encounter of cultures in San Jose, California.

The Star is built with a steel frame structure cladded in mirror-polished lacquered stainless steel. The 360- degree symmetrical geometry of the star simplifies the structure and construction of the unprecedented project. At night, the lacquered surfaces will be further enhanced by the lighting project. And, from the sky the Star will appear as a sort of cosmic toy to airplanes flying in and out of town celebrating our passage through town.

The iconic landmark preserves almost one hundred percent of the land as a public park and complements the three-mile long Guadalupe River Park and Gardens providing a destination along the walk. We envision minimal ancillary facilities on the park to facilitate social interaction and communal gathering in an atmosphere enhanced by a specific and generous landscape project. This approach will facilitate a netzero energy project.

The Radiant Star is a landmark, universal and personal at once, that in person, digitally or in print is forever to be associated with Silicon Valley. The Radiant Star is a first-time emotional monument beaming and capturing emotion and motion with an explosion of color, light and joy, a gift from today and always to the future of San Jose, Silicon Valley and the World.
